Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be requested either in person, in writing via fax, email (via our dedicated prescription line at prescriptions.chestnuts@nhs.net), letter or online via the link at the top of this page.

Unfortunately, requests are not accepted via the telephone. This is to enable us to maintain an auditable written copy of your request.

All prescriptions within the surgery are normally turned round within 24 hours, but please allow 48 hours (two working days excluding weekends and public holidays) in case of unavoidable delay.

If when you order your prescriptions, you are already marked to collect your prescription from a pharmacy, it will go there automatically within 48 hours (two working days excluding weekends and public holidays). If not, your prescription will be ready for collection from the surgery in normal opening hours.
