We now offer daily pre-bookable appointments throughout the week. In line with government guidelines a proportion of our appointments can only be booked on the day. This reduces waiting times but it also means that, particularly for acute or new problems, you may have to see another doctor if the GP you usually see is busy or unavailable.

When you phone or call at the desk you will often be asked a few simple questions by the receptionist. These are not meant to be intrusive, but help us to direct you to the appropriate health professional as quickly as possible.

Improving access appointments

From week commencing 1st July 2019 we are offering telephone and face to face appointments for our extended access clinics with our nursing staff, the surgery and reception / telephone are not open and this will remain as 8am for telephone calls and 8.30am for normal surgery.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are our extended access days (Tuesdays & Thursdays at Chestnuts location and Thursdays at Hallgate Surgery)

Both days are available to Hallgate or Chestnuts surgery patients - please ask reception in regards to availability

Cancellations and missed appointments

If, for any reason, you cannot keep an appointment, please cancel it in good time so that it can be offered to another patient. You can do this by telephoning 01482 847250.

Book an appointment

If you have a SystmOne account you can book an appointment online here. If you do not have a username and password, contact the practice to register for SystmOnline.

Telephone consultations

The Chestnuts Surgery operates a telephone consultation service which allows patients suffering with minor ailments to discuss their symptoms with a GP. Messages can be left with our trained reception staff. Patients will then be contacted by a GP the same day, who will then offer advice or an appointment for a consultation.
